OREANDA-NEWS. On October 23, 2007 specialists of Atomstroyexport, as part of a Rosatom delegation, met with representatives of the Senate of the National Congress of the Republic of Chile led by the chairman of the Committee on Mining and Energy of the Senate Ricardo Nunes Munos, reported the press-centre of Atomstroyexport.

The key topic was the prospects of cooperation for developing nuclear power industry in Chile.

The ASE specialists told the Chilean guests about the Russian NPP technologies, the capacities and experience of their company as well as Tianwan NPP, a project launched by Atomstoryexport in 2007 and recognized as one of the safest nuclear power plants in the world.
The Chilean senators showed high interest in ASE’s activities.

After the meeting the guests went to Saratov in order to visit Balakovo NPP.

Atomstroyexport is the leading Russian organization implementing contracts for the construction of nuclear power plants abroad. After the launch of two units of Tianwan NPP in China, ASE continues building nuclear power units in India – Kudankulam NPP, Iran – Bushehr NPP, and Bulgaria – Belene NPP.
