According to the data from the Centre for Freight Transport in TransContainer’s Containers, by the end of 2007, the volume of loading at Far Eastern Railways rose to 3,355,500 tonnes or more than 225,800 containers. This is 25,9% higher than the level of 2006, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

In particular, during the reporting period more than 3,269 million tonnes of cargo were delivered in large containers, 27% more than in 2006.

The dispatch of such goods in 2007 exceeded the planned level by 5.5%. The best performance was achieved at the Vladivostok branch of Far Eastern Railways, which in 2007, loaded total freight weighing 3,057 million tonnes, 6% more than the planned figure and 30,7% higher than the corresponding figure of 2006. Large containers loaded 3,025 million tonnes, up 31,1% on 2006.
