At the same time, import grew by 37% - up to $ 3689,9 million. Moldovan export to CIS countries increased by 29,7% - up to $ 550,3 million and to EU countries- by 26,3% - up to $ 679,3 million, respectively.

In 2007, import from CIS amounted to $ 1333,7 million, increasing by 30,7% and import from EU countries grew by 38% - up to $ 1681,3 million. In 2007, trade deficit of Moldova with CIS countries increased by 31,3% - up to $ 783,4 million and with EU- by 47,2% - up to $ 1002 million.

The largest trade deficit was registered with Ukraine ($ 519,1 million). Then follows: Russia ($ 265,9 million), Romania ($ 237,9 million), Germany ($ 233,1 million), China ($ 201,9 million), Turkey ($ 134,7 million), Italy ( $ 129,1 million), France ($ 70 million), Poland ($ 40,8 million) and Belarus ($ 36,7 million).
