OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 February 2008 was announced, that EADS, a world leader in aerospace, defence and related services, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kazyna Sustainable Development Fund for astrategic partnership in the development of the aerospace industry and related services in Kazakhstan.

This agreement with Kazyna envisages feasibility studies for the financing of aerospace projects.

The agreements were signed on the occasion of the offical visit of the French Prime Minister Franзois Fillon.

In addition EADS also signed a roughly US $ 1 billion MoU with the Kazakh titanium company UKTMP and the metals and alloys specialists Aubert & Duval (A&D). This MoU covers the supply of titanium and the manufacture of finished and semi-finished products for Airbus and other Divisions of EADS.

EADS intends to contribute with its Kazakh partners to the development of the aerospace industry and related services in Kazakhstan through its broad know-how and experience in various aerospace sectors.

Marwan Lahoud, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer of EADS, stated: “These two agreements are key milestones in the development of our strategic relationship with the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
