Throughput of Russian Ports to Grow 10-12% in 2008
OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2008. In throughput of Russian ports will grow by 10-12%, year-on-year, Aleksandr Davydenko, head of Federal Agency of Marine and River Transport (RosMorRechFlot) told on May 12 at the sixth International Congress of Port Captains held in St. Petersburg.
According to Davydenko, by 2015, Russian ports will handle over 700 million tonnes, while in 2007 it totaled 450 million tonnes. He also said cargo turnover in Russia grew by 2.5 times from 1990 till 2007.
