OREANDA-NEWS. May 08, 2008. In IQ2008, North Caucasus Railways loaded 690,000 tons of chemical fertilisers, 11,7% more than in the same period last year, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

Most of the increase was due to the higher volumes shipped by the Evrokhim-Belorechenskie Mineral Fertilizers (Evrokhim-BMF), part of the company Evrokhim.

In IQ2008, Evrokhim-BMF’s deliveries to Eastern Europe and Ukraine more than doubled compared to the same period in 2007.

According to the forecasts by the Rail Centre for Transport Services at North-Caucasus Railways, total shipments of mineral fertilisers in 2008 is expected to be around 2.476 million tons, 2.4% up on 2007.
