OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 June 2008 was announced, that the overhaul of dwelling houses in Moscow scheduled to be completed by 2014 requires about \\\\$12.5 billion in addition to \\\\$20.4 billion set to be allocated from the city budget earlier.

“The total volume of financing into the overhaul of living spaces in the city will rise from preplanned \\\\$20.4 billion up to almost \\\\$33 billion,” Pyotr Biryukov, first deputy city mayor of Moscow, said at a live program on TV Tsentr television on June 3.

According to the official, the extra money will be spent to make facades warmer, to substitute double-glazing units for windows, to repair balconies and to do the other essential work that will pay its way afterwards.

“So, the warmth keeping of facades of buildings enable to save up to 30 per cent of the warmth,” Mr Biryukov noted.

The first deputy city mayor of Moscow added that the work in the city was ahead of schedule, roughly 43,000 people were involved in it.

“117 million square metres are to be overhauled in the city in total,” Mr Biryukov concluded.
