OREANDA-NEWS. On 23 July 2008 was announced, that the reconstruction of the bridge over the Moscow Canal will make two-way traffic with four lanes in each direction possible on it, Aleksander Levchenko, head of Department of Road and Bridge Engineering of Moscow, declared.

“The bridge has been out of repair for a long time. Besides, it is to meet the requirements for the whole route [Bolshaya Leningradka]. This huge road interchange is currently being designed. A new bridge is to be put up there, near the existent one. The most up-to-date exit roads will be built there,” the official emphasized.

According to Mr Levchenko, when the new bridge has been built, the reconstruction of the old one will be launched. The old bridge is to be reconstructed by late 2010 and Moscow will have Bolshaya Leningradka completed with no link to the MKAD.
