OREANDA-NEWS. On July 20–21 2008 a delegation of Atomredmetzoloto OJSC, led by Director General of the company V.Zhivov, visited Aldan and discussed with President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) V.Shtyrov the prospects of the development of the uranium deposits of Elkon Mining Group (319,000 tons of uranium).

The sides discussed the project to build social and infrastructure facilities in the area to be financed by the Investment Fund of the Russian Federation in the framework of the “Complex Development of Southern Yakutia” program and the possibilities of assisting Elkon Mining Group in conducting ecological, engineering, prospecting, construction and pilot operation projects.

As a result of the meeting President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) V.Shtyrov and Director General of Atomredmetzoloto OJSC, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elkon Mining Group CJSC V.Zhivov signed an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and Elkon Mining Group CJSC for cooperation on the social-economic development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
