OREANDA-NEWS. September 5, 2008. In January-August 2008, Vostochny Port OJSC fell by 6%, year-on-year, to 10.4 mln t, the company’s PR and Advertising Department reports. In the reported period, Specialized Coal Complex handled 9.04 million tonnes of coal (-12%, year-on-year). Multi-purpose Production-and-Transshipment Complex handled 1.39 million tonnes of different cargo (+72%).

In August the company handled 1.3 million tonnes of cargo (-19%, year-on-year) including 1.1 million tonnes of coal (-24%). Multi-purpose Production-and-Transshipment Complex handled 191,000 tonnes of cargo (+31%, year-on-year).
Vostochny Port OJSC is the largest stevedoring company of Russia’s Far East. It specializes mainly in transshipment of coal. Vostochny Port OJSC comprises Specialized Coal Complex and Multi-purpose Production-and-Transshipment Complex specializing in transshipment of general and bulk cargo (clinker, coal, coke, iron-ore concentrate, timber etc.). It also handles metal, cellulose, chemicals, long-size and heavy cargo.
