OREANDA-NEWS. On September 10, 2008 PricewaterhouseCoopers and CSKA Federal Governmental Entity of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation have signed an agreement according to which PricewaterhouseCoopers has become the Official Partner of the Army club, reported the press-centre of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

This is a logical further step in expanding cooperation between PwC and CSKA originated last season. The official sponsorship of the legendary hockey team CSKA during the 2007/2008 season was a start-up project of the new area of PricewaterhouseCoopers corporate responsibility program focused on rendering support to the Russian sports.

In the new season expansion of partnership with CSKA is aimed at further development of the existing cooperation, while facilitating the achievement of outstanding sports results both in Russia and globally, as well as in nurturing a new generation of Russian sportsmen. Specifically, PricewaterhouseCoopers will allocate RR 4.7 mln to sponsor CSKA hockey and basketball schools for children and teenagers.

PricewaterhouseCoopers continues to implement its corporate responsibility program in Russia designed to address various educational, cultural and childhood protection-related issues. The firm helps orphanages, develops and implements secondment programs for university graduates, finances restoration of various Russian historic and cultural heritage sites, participates in international charity programs aimed at fundraising for children from low-income families or orphans.
