OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2008. In line with the State Investment Programme for 2008, five commercial banks of Uzbekistan attracted six credit lines of international financial institurions.

In particular, credit lines of Islamic Development Bank, Islamic Corporation on Private Business Development, Chinese Development Bank, Commerzbank, Dresdner Bank, HypoVereinsbank, KfW were attracted to finance small and medium businesses.

On the result of eight months of 2008, the banks approved 40 projects for US31.12 million, which is 5.6 times more year-on-year.

National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity (NBU) financed 22 projects for US17.1 million, Uzpromstroybank – 4 projects for US5.6 million, Asaka Bank – 3 projects for US5.2 million, Bank Ipak Yoli – 8 projects for US2.2 million and Ipoteka Bank – 3 projects for US1.03 million.
