OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2008. Net profit of the “Aeroflot” group of companies for the six months of 2008 as per the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) has amounted to US72.2 mln., which is 55.2% or US 89 mln. lower than the same indicator for the 6 months in 2007, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

Aeroflot’s consolidated revenues for the six months of 2008 as per IFRS have increased by 28.4% or US 473.1 mln., compared with the corresponding period in 2007. Operating expenses have grown by 42.1% or by US 593.1 mln. and amounted to US 2001,6 mln.

According to Mikhail Poluboyarinov, Aeroflot’s deputy general director for finance and planning, the decrease in the net profit is related to the jump in the prices on air fuels and lubricants.
