OREANDA-NEWS  On 31 October was announced, that as of November 1, 2008, Transaero Airlines will discontinue its airfare fuel surcharges on all flights within Russia.

This decision was occasioned by a reduction in jet fuel costs. Transaero Airlines General Director Olga Pleshakova assured travelers, "Transaero has always pursued a responsible price policy. Its main focus has always been to do everything possible to make airfare affordable, to maintain our traffic volume in such a manner that it corresponds to all passengers needs, especially in the Far East region, and to assure secure and stable operations of Transaero".

With the change in price, round trip airfare on Transaero short haul flights (Moscow – St. Petersburg) will be reduced by RUR 923, medium haul flights (Moscow – Yekaterinburg, Moscow – Novosibirsk) will be reduced by RUR 1562 and long haul flights (Moscow – Anadyr, Moscow – Vladivostok, Moscow – Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski, Moscow – Tomsk, Moscow – Khabarovsk, Moscow – Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk) will be reduced by RUR 2130.
