Industrial Output in Ukraine Fell by 19.8% in October 2008
OREANDA-NEWS On 18 November was announced, that Ukrainian industrial output in October 2008 fell by 19.8% as against October 2007. In 10M08 the industrial output decelerated to 2.2% from 5.1% for 9M08. As compared to September in October 2008 the industrial output decreased 7.6%.
The contraction of industrial output in October 2008, first and foremost, caused by decline in iron and steel industry – by 20.5%, in coke production – by 26.5% and oil products – by 43.9%.
We would like to remind the reader that the Economy Ministry in 2008 predicted the industrial output growth at the level of 7.8%, alas, this optimistic forecast will not come true already.
