OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 April 2009 was announced, that KEGOC JSC had successfully performed a test of innovation equipment within the framework of implementation of breakthrough project “Construction of second 500kV electricity transmission line of North-South transit”.

During the period from 3 to 6 of April at 500kV “Agadyr” SS a comprehensive testing of controlled three-phase shunt reactor (CHR) 500kV was taken place.

CHR are designed for automatic control of reactive power flows and are distinguished by high level of energy saving. The above mentioned equipment is used in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the first time.

Introduction of new technologies in NPG of Kazakhstan has a number of positive advantages, including improvement of quality of energy saving and the services rendered to the consumers.

The innovation decisions based on control of shun reactors by magnetizing, allow to optimize the modes of power grid, to lower the normative losses during transportation and distribution of electric energy.

CHR is the unique complex providing a voltage stabilization and power control in the extended electricity transmission lines and the distribution networks.

Maintenance of the controlled reactors will improve an operation mode of electricity networks of “Kazakhstan North-South” transit, in ten times will reduce wear rate of switching equipment.

In total, 3 units (CHR) of 500kV (manufacture of “Zaporozhtransformator” OJSC) will be installed within the frame of implementation “Construction of second 500kV electricity transmission line of North-South transit” project at 500kV “YuKGRES” and “Agadyr”.
