OREANDA-NEWS. On 05 May 2009 was announced, that JSC UTair Aviation is increasing the volume of helicopter works providing the transportation of UNO’s peace-making missions.

A new contract of UTair with UNO was concluded in the first quarter of 2009. Three helicopters Mi-171 and one helicopter Mi-8 MTV of the air company started to give transportation services in Chad to realize this programme.

UTair Aviation proceeded its work on the African Continent according to former concluded contracts with UNO in Sudan, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra-Lione and on the territory of such states as Nepal and Afghanistan. 50 helicopters were used for the performance of works. The rotary-wing equipment is maintained by about 500 highly qualified employees of UTair Aviation.

According to the contracts the air company performs works for medical and emergency evacuation of injured and ill, provides rescue and recovery service and also carries out passenger and VIP transportations. The helicopters are fitted with first-aid equipment and paramedics are included into the crew when necessary.
