OREANDA-NEWS. On 07 July 2009 was announced, that during his first official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held talks with Jordanian King Abdullah II, a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad in the 43rd generation.

The sides discussed issues of partnership in such areas as chemical industry, transport, communications, telecommunications, construction industry and the agro-industrial complex.

"The experience of Jordanian partners in mining and production of mineral fertilizers will be very useful for Turkmenistan," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said. He invited the Jordanian companies to participate in the implementation of major national and international projects such as the National Tourism Zone "Avaza", the construction of a transnational railway with access to the Persian Gulf and other projects.

The King of Jordan supported the Turkmen leader's idea for the establishment of the bilateral Turkmen-Jordanian intergovernmental commission on economic and humanitarian cooperation. The sides also agreed to establish regular intergovernmental contacts and actively engage private businesses that should enjoy full support.
