OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2009. The Gagauz budget will be over-executed and the autonomy will repay all its debts, if Moldova solves the problem of exporting wine materials to Russia, Gagauz Bashkan Mihail Formuzal considers.

At a news conference the Bashkan said that Gagauzia’s debts constituted almost 18 million lei, 8.4 million lei out of a 20-million credit, which the previous leadership of Gagauzia received.

“From 2007 the Gagauz leadership reduced the arrears from 41.4 million lei to 17.9 million lei. We had to repay our debts under hard conditions of the dry 2007 and the critical 2008 years. Despite this fact, we have not taken a single credit for the last 2.5 years”, the Bashkan said.

In his words, if Moldova fails to solve the problem of exporting wine materials to Russia under the present crisis conditions, the recovery of the debts and the budget execution for the second half-year will be problematic.

Formuzal said that Gagauzia’s budget for the first half-year on the item of its own incomes is fulfilled by 105% - 2.7 million lei above the target and 3.1 million lei more against the same period of 2008.
