OREANDA-NEWS. July 17, 2009. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has officially confirmed that Uzbekistan Airways was included into the Register of IOSA operators (IATA Operational Safety Audit). In spring 2009 the airline had successfully passed the International Audit procedure on compliance with the standards of aviation operation safety and thus confirmed that its operation fully meets the requirements of IATA, reported the press-centre of Uzbekistan Airways.

The IOSA Certificate is a world-recognized quality sign for airlines and a document required in the decision-making process about expediency for concluding agreement on cooperation between air carriers on joint operation of airlines and granting delivery license to partner airlines. The Certificate has become a confirmation of an international safety carrier status.

Availability of the Certificate is a mandatory requirement for airlines for accepting membership in IATA and international aviation alliances. Thus Uzbekistan Airways has made another major step towards joining SkyTeam Airline Alliance.
