OREANDA-NEWS. September 1, 2009. Russian-Ukrainian negotiations on the completion of the 3rd and 4th units of Khmelnitsky Nuclear Power Plant (Ukraine) took place in Moscow Aug 28 2009.

The Russian delegation was led by First Vice President of Atomstroyexport CJSC Alexander Glukhov, the Ukrainian delegation by Vladimir Bronnikov, Director General of Atomrproektengineering, subdivision of NNEGC Energoatom.

The delegations discussed draft agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the completion of the 3rd and 4th units of Khmelnitsky NPP and related contracts. They also discussed their powers and responsibilities at different stages of engineering, construction and commissioning. The Russian side suggests that Atomstroyexport should be the general contractor of the project and should have the right to enroll sub-contractors and sub-suppliers.

Atomstroyexport has confirmed its commitment to continue the negotiations and to provide the Ukrainian side with all necessary specifications on the projects. The sides have agreed to draft the agreement by the end of Sept and to start its inter-department coordination in both Russia and Ukraine in early Oct.
