OREANDA-NEWS. October 1, 2009. “Nuclear Industry 2009” specialized exhibition set off at Lenexpo exhibition complex in St.Petersburg Sept 30 2009. The exhibition features the latest nuclear technologies in the field of production of power equipment, non-destructive control systems, means of individual and collective protection, control systems for nuclear power plants, equipment and materials ensuring the safety of NPPs, spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste treatment technologies. The exhibition is being held in the framework of the 2nd Innovative Forum. 

While speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director General of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation Pyotr Schedrovitsky said that Rosatom’s positions on the international market fully depended on its technological capacities. “There are, at least, two technologies that make Russia the leader of the market: centrifugal isotope enrichment technology and fast breeder reactor,” Schedrovitsky said. Rosatom’s innovative projects are in high demand not only in the nuclear industry. “We will continue our efforts to become a leader in nuclear and many other industries,” Schedrovitsky said.

Over 60 nuclear companies are taking part in Nuclear Industry 2009: Energoatom Concern OJSC, VNIIAES OJSC, Sverd OJSC, RosRAO FSUE, Mayak PA, St.Petersburg Atomenergoproekt, NIIteplopribor, NIKIMT-Atomstroy OJSC, TVEL OJSC, Siberian Chemical Plant OJSC. The exhibition features a wide range of Rosatom’s products and technologies: polycrystalline silicon for solar batteries, a carriage for transportation of containers with spent nuclear fuel, physical protection systems, high-temperature superconductors. The organizer of the exhibition is Restec.
