Moscow to Host Eastern Europe and Central Asia AIDS Conference
OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2009. The III Eastern Europe and Central Asia AIDS Conference will be held in Moscow from October 28-30 to discuss a broad range of matters relating to a regional drive to combat this dangerous infectious disease.
Taking part in the forum will be Gennady Onishchenko, Head of the Federal Service for Supervision in the Area of Human Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing; Michel Kazatchkine, Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; Michel Sidibe, Executive Director of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS; and Mikhail Grishankov, First Deputy Chairman of the Security Committee of the State Duma. Russian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Alexander Yakovenko is scheduled to speak at the opening ceremony of the conference.
