OREANDA-NEWS. December 1, 2009. Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee held at the Company’s Headquarters a meeting dedicated to the Kirinskoye gas and condensate field (GCF) development.

Taking part in the meeting were Vasily Podyuk, Member of the Management Committee, Head of the Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production Department, heads and experts from Gazprom’s specialized subdivisions, Gazprom VNIIGAZ, Gazprom dobycha shelf, Gazflot.

The meeting participants addressed the preparation progress for the Kirinskoye GCF development in conformity with the Eastern Gas Program execution. An emphasis was placed on preliminary results of the geological exploration carried out in the field in 2009.

Based on the meeting results, Gazprom’s specialized subdivisions and subsidiaries were entrusted with the tasks aimed at securing the execution of the Kirinskoye GCF development project.
Background

Discovered in 1992, the Kirinskoye GCF is located within the Kirinsky Block of the Sakhalin III project offshore the Sakhalin Island (Sea of Okhotsk).

Gazprom has launched exploration drilling in the Kirinskoye field this July. An exploration well has been drilled, commercial gas inflows have been reported and seismic survey has been performed.

The State Development Program for an integrated gas production, transportation and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential gas exports to China and other Asia-Pacific countries (Eastern Gas Program) was approved in September 2007 by the Russian Industry and Energy Ministry order. Gazprom was appointed by the Russian Government as the Program execution coordinator.
