OREANDA-NEWS. December 9, 2009. For eleven months, this year transshipment at Commercial Port of Vladivostok (CPV) has grown 4 % - to 5.75 million tons, the port press service reports. According to the report, over these months totally 3.97 million tons of export cargo, 871.9 thousand tons of import cargo and 904.4 thousand tons of coasting have been handled at the port. The port handled 207 thousand 132 TEUs coasting cargo - 77 thousand 578 TEUs; import - 62 thousand 773 TEUs; export - 66 thousand 781 TEUs in January-November.

In November, 2009 Commercial Port of Vladivostok handled 538.7 thousand tons of cargoes, including cargo - 359.1 thousand tons; import - 81.9 thousand tons; coasting - 97.7 thousand tons. Cargoes in containers handled - 24243 TEUs. In this volume coasting - 8121 TEUs, import - 7804 TEUs, export - 8318 TEUs.

The volume of handled cargoes in November was 24 % more than that of the last year. "Taking into account the dynamics we have today by the third decade of December cargo turnover at VP will exceed 6 million tons", - the CPV authority said.
 
The Open Society "Commercial Port of Vladivostok" operating in Vladivostok – is one of the major sea ports in the Russian Far East. The Port has 17 berths, including several specialised – to handle containers, for passengers and automobiles. The CPV is incorporated into FESCO transport group. Total cargo turnover at the port made 5,915 million tons in 2008.
