Rosatom Will Fight for Nuclear Power Plants in Czech Republic
OREANDA-NEWS. February 17, 2010. State Corporation "Rosatom" will participate in the tender for the construction of two blocks of NPP “Temelin” in the Czech Republic. This statement was made by the head of state corporation, Sergei Kiriyenko, Interfax reported.
According to Kiriyenko, the tender was announced, and "Rosatom" intends "to purchase the tender documentation and to prepare its application. Kiriyenko assured that the application of State Corporation will be filed on time.
Tender for construction of additional units at “Temelin” NPP was declared by the Czech company CEZ on August, 3 this year. Now there are two nuclear power reactors with a capacity in 1 gigawatt, built by Russia’s project.
In 2007, another Russia’s Corporation TVEL became the sole supplier of nuclear fuel for the Czech nuclear power plant. Since 2010 TVEL will supply fuel to Temelin. The contract is made for ten years.
