OREANDA-NEWS. March 09, 2010. The Asian Development Bank endorsed today preparation of a program of propaganda of business opportunities outreach initiatives (BOOI) in 2010-12.
The Bank informs that USD 1 million was allocated for BOOI technical assistance.
The consultant must assess the BOOI primary impact in: increased competition, promoting economy, efficiency, fairness, and transparency in the procurement processes of ADB-financed projects, and better understanding of ADB’s procurement and consulting guidelines including related policies and procedures.
The BOOI main outcomes are: an increase in number of high quality and competitively-priced bids for the supply of goods and works as well as proposals for consulting services; a decline in the number of non-responsive offers for ADB-financed contracts; and an improved performance of contractors/consultants under ADB-financed contracts.
Business Opportunities Seminars implemented; Business Opportunities Fairs implemented; anchor Events and Thematic Collaborations with selected host organizations attended and/or co-organized; development of an efficient, web-based BOOI monitoring and evaluation tool; improved ADB BO website; and development of web-based BOOI training materials.
