OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2010. JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines the web check-in expands geography for its passengers. They now can check in for all Aeroflot flights from Baku, Bangkok, Deli, Hanoi, Seoul, Astrakhan, Barnaul, Magadan, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Perm, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Surgut, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Ufa, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Volgograd via the Internet at home or the office instead of the airport. Web check-in is now available to Aeroflot passengers from 32 cities, both in outside Russia, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

In late March 2010 the web check-in service was provided to Aeroflot passengers flying from London and Larnaka.

Still earlier, the opportunity was already to Aeroflot passengers flying from Sheremetyevo, and after that the service was delivered to Aeroflot passengers flying from Beijing, Yerevan, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Dubai, Anapa, Krasnoyarsk, Samara, Mineralnye Vody, Omsk, and Nizhnevartovsk.

This new milestone means that the first stage of web check-in implementation in Aeroflot’s agencies is completed. Further rollout of the self check-in service in the company’s agencies will be dependent on the approval of the comprehensive program of self check-in deployment enabled by Sabre - ACSI, Kiosk Self Service Check-in, WEB check-in, and Mobile Check-in.

The Web check-in is available 24 hrs and ends 1 hr 30 min before departure. This is especially practical for those traveling with carry-on baggage only, as it allows them to board straightaway and bypass the check-in queue. Passengers with baggage have to check it in as usual.

To use Web check-in, ticketed passengers need to go to the Web check-in section at the company’s website www.aeroflot.aero. After submitting their data (full name, departure point, flight number, Aeroflot Bonus member card, and passport data) passengers can choose a seat at their option and print out a boarding pass. Passengers with such a printout can proceed directly to boarding.

The Web check-in introduction has marked Aeroflot’s next move towards quality improvement through state-of–the-art technology.
