OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2010. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against "Bezant" Ltd. for the signs of violating Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (abusing market dominance), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

FAS Russia received a complaint of "Cores" Ltd. against actions of "Bezant" Ltd.

"Bezant" Ltd. distributes protected electronic cash register tape (PECRT), and buys accessories necessary for manufacturing PECRT.

"Cores" Ltd. operates on the market of radio-electronic components and assessor items.

In its complaint "Cores" Ltd. reported that it had made an offer to "Bezant" Ltd. for a contract to supply accessories required to manufacture protected electronic cash register tape; however, "Bezant" Ltd. had ignored the offer and had not concluded the contract.

Investigating the case, FAS Russia discovered that "Cores" Ltd. offered "Bezant" Ltd. to supply the above products at better prices than "Bezant" Ltd. is currently buying.

"Bezant" Ltd. is the only consumer in the Russian Federation of the accessories, supply of which was offered by "Cores" Ltd.

Therefore, FAS Russia suspects that actions (omissions) of "Bezant" Ltd. violated the antimonopoly law.

Reference:
Protected electronic cash register tape (PECRT) - is a technical device protected from non-detected corrections, which provides registration and energy-independent long-term storage of information about each cash settlement made with the use of cash-register equipment, required for complete revenue accounting in order to calculate taxes correctly.

The main factor of the high cost of PERCT is the use of expensive accessories (electronic modules) imported from abroad.
