OREANDA-NEWS. May 04, 2010. The average cabin factor of Estonian Air flights in Lithuania is 80%, which is above expectations for the start, reported the press-centre of Estonian Air.

From 12 February, (the beginning of operations of the first direct route in Lithuania),
to 31 March, Estonian Air carried 6703 passengers on the Tallinn-Vilnius-Amsterdam route.

In March Estonian Air carried 5247 passengers, out of which 2703 on the Tallinn-Amsterdam and 2181 on the Vilnius-Amsterdam route.

"Entering the Lithuanian market one and a half months ago was carried out because the huge potential of Lithuanian market and attractiveness of the Vilnius airport, which are substantially enhanced by the efforts of the Lithuanian Government and management of the Vilnius airport. It was strategically important and necessary step, which is proven by the outstanding cabin factor figure and big customer interest in our services, "said Rauno Parras, Estonian Air's Vice President Commercial.

The Amsterdam airport, one of the biggest European hubs, opens a door to each corner of the world. Based on the statistics of one and a half months, most of the passengers to Amsterdam were taking continuation flights to more than 90 destinations around the world. The most popular destinations from Amsterdam were Athens, Barcelona, Bordeaux, Madrid, Milan, Munich and Nice.

Flights on the Tallinn-Vilnius-Amsterdam route are operated in cooperation with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Cooperation between Estonian Air and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines started already from spring last year, when Estonian Air started flights on Tallinn-Amsterdam route. The cooperation agreement on code sharing on the Vilnius-Amsterdam route was signed in January this year.

Estonian Air is serving the route with six flights a week; on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
