OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2010. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy has been negotiating Ukoopspilka’s functional recovery. Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said this at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

"Today we are negotiating with Ukoopspilka for resuming its natural functions", said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

The Minister is convinced that Ukraine must create a network of wholesale agricultural markets: "In my opinion, by building a system of wholesale markets and providing information field regarding price policy, availability of and demand for foods, we can implement logistically a certain migration of agricultural products within the country to those points where there is demand for it".

According to Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the need of a network of wholesale agricultural markets is also supported by the fact that in Ukraine about 60% of vegetables and fruits grown on private farms either rot or go to feed cattle. In addition, these steps will help to combat excessive price "cheat".
