OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2010. In January-April 2010 the average wages in Moldova amounted to almost 2766,9 leis (USD215), increasing by 5,6% as compared to the same period of the last year. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, at the same time, real wages fell by 0,8%. Average wages in the budgetary sector increased by 7,4% - up to 2438.1 leis, in the real economy - by 4,7% - up to 2,960 lei.

The highest wages in January-April 2010 were registered in the financial sector - 5,907.7 lei (6.6% compared to the same period of the last year), heat, electricity, gas and water supply sector- 4482.3 leis (-2,4%).

The lowest wages were registered in agriculture and forestry - 1,360.4 leis (8.2%), fish farming - 1,426.5 leis (-2,7%). The average wages in the mining industry fell by 7.4%- up to 2,749.3 leis, and in education- increased by 17.2%- up to 2,261.8 leis. The average salary in health and social protection sectors has increased by 2,663.4 leis.

In April this year the average salary in the national economy amounted to 2,860.2 leis, increasing by 2,6% compared with April of the last year.
