In 2006 Silvatec  Skovmaskiner A/S has successfully entered Russian market with its high-capacity mobile 8-wheeled harvester "Sleipner 8266 TH", the name sending back to the ancient Scandinavian mythological steed racing both on the ground and in the sky. The machine fully corresponds the characteristics of its symbol. Danish machines are effective and simple in use being fully adaptable to severe climate conditions. Based on the principles of high capacity and careful use of the resources, it became a true milestone in the development of forestry sector in Russia.

This year Silvatec  Skovmaskiner A/S presents to the forestry society a new product of Danish-Russian cooperation  -  an 8-wheeled forwarder featuring a specially designed  rotating cab. In contrast to a harvester it is aimed at the delivery of the wood to the stockpiling place, cross-country abilities and other technical characteristics meeting strong European requirements. Through the joint cooperation of Danish and Russian specialists a brand new model  has been suited for both Russian and European consumer meeting  diverse geographical and market requirements.

Silvatec team has provided project management as well as  designing the front end of the machine, specifications, sourcing of parts and assembly of prototype. Best Russian engineers have made considerable contributions, e.g. designing and developing the rear end of the "Sleipner Forwarder 814TF", performing FEM analysis of the new cabin to ensure meeting of safety standards, providing such critical items as crane, gearboxes and bogies.

"The main attraction of the ЕUROFOREST will be, unduobtfully, the new forwarder featuring a new specially designed rotating cab. Silvatec Skovmaskiner A/S and Russian companies of Machinery & Industrial Group together have been able to develop an entirely new machine in a time where the market is suffering and manufacturers of forestry equipment in many cases have been facing losses - and at the same time we are constantly updating our machines to meet new customer requirements. We also plan to exhibit a Sleipner harvester recently delivered to a French customer. The harvester is fitted with a Loglift 280 crane - a bigger crane than normal - which makes the harvester an even stronger contestant for heavy duty felling of big trees", says Silvatec  CEO  Peter Graversen  in respect of joint work with Russian colleges.

The best items of new harvesting machines will be exhibited at the stand of Silvatec Skovmaskiner at "ЕUROFOREST-2010".
