OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2010. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, the real wage rate has reduced slightly – by 0.5%. In public sector the average wage amounted to 2472 leis, increasing as compared to the same period of the last year by 7.7%, in real economy sector – 2997.6 leis, increasing by 5.4%.

The highest wages traditionally have workers of financial sector – 5968.3 leis (+7.5% as compared to January-May 2009); heat-, electricity-, gas- and water-supply – 4541.4 leis (-1.6%). In education sector the average salary made up 2299.5 leis (+16.7%), in health and public health and social protection sectors – 2714.8 leis (+7.3%).

During the first 5 months of 2010, most of all were reduced wages of extractive industry workers – by 8.1% - up to 2828.8 leis. The lowest salaries traditionally are in agriculture and forestry – 1383.8 leis (+8.9%) and in fishery – 1485.8 leis (+2.8%).

In May 2010 the average salary in Moldovan economy amounted to 2957.7 leis or by 7.7% more than in May 2009. The real wage reduced by 0.2%.
