OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2010. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is developing a package of legal acts on the development of depressive regions of Ukraine. This Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at the press conference related to "Causes of alignment of tariffs for natural gas to economic levels and the Government's measures to strengthen the social protection of population".

"Now we have to develop laws and regulations that will create incentives for the development of depressive regions. We must find money and incentives to ensure that each region in future becomes self-sufficient, i.e. had a sufficient number of jobs and could provide itself with necessary resources. We will seriously consider such programmes" - Mykola Azarov said.

According to him, it is real to perform this task, we just need to find the right approach. "These areas have good human capital, and, consequently, entirely new forms of organization can be implemented there: technology parks, clusters and many other modern forms of work organization" - he said.

In general, Mykola Azarov is convinced that in Ukraine there is no region, which would not need investment for its modernization and renovation: even Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa region – being our most developed areas, are in need of resources".
