OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2010. Cotton growers in Tahtabazar Etrap, who were the first in Mary Velayat and throughout the country to fulfil the contractual obligations on ‘white gold’ production, gained an outstanding labour victory.

Diligent tenants in Tahtabazar Etrap, who delivered over 15,500 tons of high-quality cotton to the receiving points of the country, dedicated their labour victory to the 19th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan. This success is shared by tenants, agronomists, machine operators, drivers, all organizers and participants of the cotton picking campaign. Six of nine farmers associations including Marchak, Uzumchilik, Pendi, Yashlyk, Azatlyk and Mivechilik successfully fulfilled their contractual obligations. A major part of the fields was sown with Yoloten-7 cotton variety well adapted to local soil and climatic conditions.

The cotton growers’ labour achievements evidence that Turkmen agricultural worker respond in a worthy manner to the unceasing concern of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov who pus much effort to support the agricultural sector and improve the wellbeing of rural population. Cotton growers in Tahtabazar Etrap are planning to reap the harvest without losses and exceed the target by 2,500 tons of ‘white gold’.
