OREANDA-NEWS. December 1, 2010. Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) increases potash prices for Brazil and Southeast Asia, an official in the press service of company told.

Spot contract prices for Asia will be raised to USD 430 per tonne of standard potassium chloride and USD 450 per tonne of granulated potash. In Brazil, larger importers will buy granulated potash at USD 440 per tonne, and smaller consumers, at USD 450 per tonne.

Previously, the prices were set at USD 405 and USD 420 for the Asian market and USD 410 and USD 420 for the Brazilian market, respectively.

According to BPC CEO Vladimir Nikolayenko, the year 2010 has been very favorable for the market because of the unprecedented demand, caused by the rise in prices for major crops.

Belarusian Potash Company was established in April 2005 to streamline potash exports.

Uralkali controls 50% in BPC, Belaruskali 45%, and Belarusian Railway 5%.
