OREANDA-NEWS. February 25, 2011. In 2010, TSCO applied 403 patents with 357 were authorized, which kept the first in four consecutive years in Shanxi province. By the end of 2010, TISCO had total 1183 patents, fully completed the goal that achieving 1,000 patents at the end of "11th five-year plan", and cumulative benefit creation was above 200 million Yuan (after taxes), reported the press-centre of TISCO.

Since 2006, TISCO was successively identified as the "Demonstration base  for patent achievements transformation in Taiyuan City", "Pilot company for the 3rd batch of intellectual property in China", "The first batch enterprises for top 100 intellectual property enterprises cultivation project in Shanxi"; TSCO set up the first batch of patent work exchange station; TISCO successively obtained the title of "Shanxi intellectual property advanced company”, with total 46 patents won gold, silver and bronze awards in national and international invention exhibitions, Mr. Liu Chengzhi from Technical Center won the Youth Invention Special Award presented by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); "A Stainless Steel Making Method with Hot Metal as the Main Material” developed independently won the special prize -- the Best Innovation Award presented by Inventor Association International Federation (IFIA), “Denitrogen Method for Stainless Steel Making High Carbon Area of Vacuum Oxygen Blowing Decarburization Finer” won national “the 11th Chinese patent outstanding project award”. In addition, some patents were applied for the international application.

Patents have boosted TISCO’s independent innovation ability. In stainless steel, cold rolled silicon steel, axle steel and other high-end fields, by independent development and research, TISCO has formed a large number of core technologies with international advanced level and independent intellectual property rights. Technology has become an important engine for TISCO’s leaping development, and preempting high-end market by original technology is becoming more and more important for TISCO to realize the strategic target of building the world's most competitive stainless steel company.
