OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2011. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has started publishing banking statistics for the first quarter of 2011.

The CBA reports that on 1 April the domestic banks installed 1,929 cash machines. The indicator is by 214 ones more versus the 2010 same term.

Of them, 1,071 cash machines are located in Baku and 848 ones in regions.

The number of POS terminals by the reported date reached 8,857, including 8,027 in Baku and 830 in the regions.

The quantity of active cards issued by the country’s banks reached 4.342 million (+7% by April 2010) and number of transactions with them reached 4.973 million transactions and 95% of transactions accounted for debit cards.
