OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2012. Construction of Lermontovsky Prospekt and Zhulebino Subway Stations is on schedule, and they are going to open in September 2013 Mayor Sergey Sobyanin have said when he visited the construction site. The OJSC USK MOST is running construction of the new section of the capital subway system.

The construction program for Moscow subway includes extension of the Taganskaya - Krasnopresnenskaya Line from Vykhino Station with a section that will have three more stations: Lermontovsky Prospekt, Zhulebino, and Kotelniki.

The representatives of OJSC USK MOST, General Contractor, explained to Moscow Mayor that the total length of the section under construction will be 6.6 km and they also confirmed that the inauguration of Kotelniki Station, which was scheduled for the year 2015, could happen on an earlier date. The preparation work at that construction site will start this month.

Tunneling from Zhulebino Station to Lermontovsky Prospekt Station will begin on March 22. All new stations of the Taganskaya - Krasnopresnenskaya Line are not located deep underground (the average depth is of 12 to 13 meters). About 900 persons are employed now on five construction sites. The work is carried out around the clock.

The extension of the subway line and the provision of transfer facilities at Lermontovsky Prospekt and Kotelniki Station will ease up the transportation situation in Zhulebino area and relieve the load in Vykhino area, while improving the environmental conditions around Novoryazanskoe Highway and Moscow Beltway and reducing the travel distance by 3 km for residents of the city of Lyubertsy and other localities of Moscow Region.
