Sberbank Recognized Most Expensive Russian Brand
OREANDA-NEWS. May 25, 2012. Sberbank came 74th in the rating of most expensive global brands published by Millward Brown Optimor (MBO). According to MBO research, Sberbank's brand is worth USD10.65 bn., making it the most expensive Russian brand.
Throughout the year, Sberbank's brand demonstrated the best dynamics in its segment and went 25 positions up in the rating with its value rising 25%.
Apple came first in the global rating, like the year before (USD183 bn.). The total value of one hundred most expensive brands of the world was USD2.4 trillion.
Millward Brown Optimor issues the rating of most expensive brands of the world every year (2012 is the seventh year). Both financial figures and brand perception are taken into account for brand valuation.
"In our opinion, Sberbank's brand was so highly valuated as a result of both record-setting financial results of the Bank and changes in consumer perceptions of the the Bank based primarily on changes in service levels: a new image is being formed of Sberbank as a modern, hi-tech and client-oriented business. This process is positively seen both by clients and the expert community and the market overall", - Denis Bugrov, Senior Vice President of Sberbank of Russia, pointed out.
In February 2012 Sberbank came was ranked second in terms of the 10-year share returns published by The Economist. Only Apple had a better figure. Apart from Sberbank, only one other bank made it to Top 10 – Banco do Brasil.
