OREANDA-NEWS. June 29, 2012. This was voiced by Premier of Moldova Vladimir Filat at a meeting with European Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger in Brussels.

This area is one of key priorities Moldova is striving for as developing its energy sector. Another priority is the interconnection of gas systems of Moldova and Romania to strengthen energy safety of our country, Vladimir Filat said.

Here he mentioned construction of the main gas pipeline Ungheni-Iasi. Participants of the discussion touched upon the measures undertaken by Moldova in the energy sector, including those on energy sources diversification.

During the last round of the association and DCFTA negotiations between Moldova and EU matters of the energy sector were also discussed, Vladimir Filat remarked. The EU Commissioner for Energy highly appreciated projects launched in the energy sector of Moldova recently.
