OREANDA-NEWS. July 10, 2012. Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power utility organized a Blood Donation Camp in Bhira, Maharashtra for its community.

The Blood Donation Camp was arranged by Tata Power in association with the Rotary Club blood bank. Dr. V M Alat President, Rotary Club of New Panvel, Dr. Hemant Bhaleka and Dr Shivanand, Blood Transfusion Officers and Mr S C Srivastav, Administrator, Blood bank were present at the camp.

110 enthusiastic participants including employees and their families, contractors & their teams and local villagers participated in this noble cause. A total of 76 participants donated their blood. The program continued for the whole day. Every donor donated approximately 480 ml of Blood after passing through preliminary medical tests like BP, HB, weight-check etc. The camp concluded with the donors being served with tea, coffee and snacks.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. M.D. Paranjpe, Head – Hydro Division said, “Blood donation is a noble cause and every blood donor has contributed towards community development. We thank our donors for their participation and will continue to associate ourselves with the Rotary Club for such initiatives in the near future.”

The camp was held under the guidance and active participation of Mr. & Mrs.  M.D. Paranjpe (Head, Tata Power-Hydros),  Mr. A.G. Patil (Chief Manager - Bhira) and Mr. D D Mendgudle - (Head O & M - Bhira). All of them also donated blood to encourage the participants.
