OREANDA-NEWS. October 4, 2012. For the nine-months-work of the current year, it is determined that exploitation of the East Siberia – Pacific Ocean oil pipeline (ESPO) doesn’t result in any negative influence to the quality of water objects, as Boris Yablonsky, the Deputy General Manager of “Vostoknefteprovod” Ltd. (an affiliated organization of TRANSNEFT JSC) reported.

At the collegial meeting of the Ministry of Nature B.Yablonsky presented his report regarding the results of environment protection activity at the territory of Yakutia. According to him, while building and exploitation of ESPO pipeline, ecological safety stands first and foremost. To ensure environment protection, a complex program and a program of ecological management are being elaborated annually. Besides, a “Long-term program on provision safety and rational usage of natural resources for the period from the year 2010 to 2017” was elaborated. The programs include the following measures: complete overhaul and reconstruction of waste treatment facilities, accreditation of laboratories of ecological-analytical control, acquisition of equipment for liquidation of emergency oil spills, elaboration of permission documentation and licenses.

Also, B.Yablonsky gave information from GBU “RIATSEM” (the Republic Informational-analytical Center of Ecological Monitoring) department of the Ministry of Nature in Yakutia, which determined after testing of water, bottom materials, ground and snow, that the exploitation of ESPO pipeline does not result any negative influence to the quality of water objects.
