Vladivostok Hosted Meeting of Chiefs of VTS
OREANDA-NEWS. October 10, 2012. The FSUE "Rosmorport" Vladivostok Branch hosted a working meeting of chiefs of VTS and Communication, Electrical and Radio Navigation and IT services of all the branches of the enterprise, which was headed by Deputy General Director for Navigation Safety V.Y. Vanyukov, reported the press-centre of Rosmorport.
The participants of the meeting discussed a wide range of issues related to the assesment of the current condition and development of sea navigation safety systems in the Russian Federation. In particular, a detailed discussion evolved around the drafts of documents being elaborated to regulate the coastal VTS activities, and elimination of contradictions in this sphere of law in Russian legislation as well as in view of its harmonization with the international normative legal acts regulating the corresponding types of activities.
The participants of the meeting turned special attention to the necessity of preserving the high level of professional training of the enterprise employees working in that shpere by means of constant professional development of VTS and GMDSS personnel. During the meeting it was agreed to create united services in the enterprise branches, which would be responsible for nabigation safety in the coverage areas of the enterprise equipment located in the seaports and coastal navigation areas.
The agenda also included a visit to the VTS facilities at Cape Kamensky not far from Nakhodka, inspection of the equipment and the working conditions of VTS operators.
