OREANDA-NEWS. During a constructive meeting, Russian Communications and Mass Media Minister Nikolay Nikiforov and Tele2 AB CEO & President Mats Granryd discussed the prospects of development of the Russian telecommunications market.

At the beginning of the meeting, Nikolay Nikiforov, the head of the Communications and Mass Media Ministry (Minkomsvyaz), shared his vision of the main directions for industry development set by the ministry. For his part, Mats Granryd, CEO and President of Tele2 AB, presented how Tele2’s operations contribute to the development of telecommunications in the Russian regions in which the company operates.

Nikolay Nikiforov and Mats Granryd also discussed regulatory matters of importance to the telecommunications sector.

The meeting participants focused on digital divide issues in Russia and the factors fostering innovation in our industry. Nikolay Nikiforov and Mats Granryd shared their views on MNP prospects, LTE network rollout and an introduction of technology neutrality.
