OREANDA-NEWS. Fujitsu Limited and Panasonic Corporation announced the launch of a joint pilot project that aims to create new value for customers while also tying in with other industries such as food and health. Each company's respective strengths, including information from Panasonic's smart appliances and Fujitsu's cloud technology, which enables this information to be efficiently analyzed and visualized, will be leveraged in the pilot project. Fujitsu and Panasonic intend to use the knowledge gained through the pilot project to develop new services that enhance convenience and comfort in customers' daily lives.

To design and demonstrate ways for creating added value and developing new services businesses focusing on broad industry sectors such as food and health. This, in turn, will enrich the daily lives of home appliance users.

The pilot project will be overseen by a dedicated organization established by Fujitsu in April of this year, as well as the Panasonic R&D division's Cloud Solutions Center.

Fujitsu's cloud technology will be employed to analyze information generated by smart appliances used by the test group. In collaboration with partners in other industries, the companies will explore plans for developing new service businesses. For example, Fujitsu and Panasonic will work with companies in the food industry to explore services that provide appliance users with relevant recipes, food-related health information, and discount information based on analyses of their food consumption habits and lifestyles.

In light of the results from the pilot project, Fujitsu and Panasonic will work to develop and commercialize services with partner companies from other industries.
