OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus’ OJSC Slootsk Sugar Refinery (Minsk Region) has earmarked Br150 billion (USD 17.401 million) for production upgrade in 2013, a company representative told.

The company plans to increase its capacity and install a fully automatic sugar packing facility.

There are four sugar plants in Belarus (based Gorodeya, Zhabinka, Skidel, Slootsk), which process 28,000 tonnes of sugar beet a day.

Belarus is currently looking for an investor to build a fifth sugar plant in Mogilev Region.

Belarus is expected to produce 720,000 tonnes of white sugar in 2015.
