OREANDA-NEWS. NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport put into service brand-new advanced equipment for runway friction coefficient measurement, a principal parameter ensuring safe landings and take-offs.

T-5 Trailer CFME friction coefficient continuous measurement system produced by ASFT (Sweden) allows to appraise current state of a runway in adverse weather conditions as well as at low temperatures with the accuracy of two hundredths. Friction coefficient data will be transferred via Bluetooth in real time onto monitors installed in the vehicles of the airport maintenance experts.

High precision equipment is certified by the International Aviation Committee and ICAO. Maintenance specialists of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport have passed necessary theoretical and practical tests. The same technology has already been put into service in more than 300 airports across the globe including those located in the northern latitudes.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia.
