OREANDA-NEWS. Assemblers of the holdings`s subsidiary OJSC “MSU-90” will install twelve tanks with a capacity of 63 - 400 m3.

The metal tanks are produced and tested at “TITANIT” plant, a member of the industrial group of companies of TITAN-2 Holding. It is the first experience of producing rolled cylindrical items for the plant workers. In April the first item was delivered to the Leningrad NPP-2 site, and on April 24 assemblers of OJSC “MSU-90” started to install a tank for the chemical water treatment system.

The biggest difficulty in assembling such metal structures is big sizes. The first installed tank capacity is- 250 m3, its bottom diameter is 8 meters, and its wall height is 9 meters. Each tank is delivered to the site in the lay-up. Assembly of the tank bottom is followed by installation of the tank walls in the design position excluding wind loads due to high wind resistance of a steel sheet. Then assembly of the wall erection joint is implemented with observation of the design isolation joints and edge preparation.

Assemblers of OJSC “MSU-90” in the course of the work will install a total of 12 tanks with a capacity of 63, 100, 250, 300 and 400 m3. The assembled tanks comprise the chemical water treatment system designed for preparation of the chemically desalinized high purity water for primary filling of the contours and their further feeding. The tanks refer to the fourth safety class.

The work on assembling BOP tanks of the chemical water treatment system is a part of the period of assembling the main engineering systems of Power Unit № 1 to be erected at the site in 2013. During this stage OJSC “MSU-90” will assembly all main and auxiliary systems of the Leningrad NPP-2 turbine area.

TITAN-2 is one of the contractors involved in construction and installation works at the power units 1 and 2 of the Leningrad NPP. Over 30% of the general construction work and 80% of assembly work of the total volume of construction and assembly work and commissioning operations are performed by the company`s efforts. Currently it carries out work on 145 construction objects in the course of construction of the Leningrad NPP replacement capacities. Specialists of the holding are engaged at 42 objects of the first and second power units of the Leningrad NPP-2. The work is carried out on the buildings of the reactor, turbine, electric power- and water supply and other structures of the power units. The LNPP-2 construction design provides for erection of a total of 270 primary and auxiliary objects.
